webOS TV Remote (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a remote control for webOS Smart TVs, published by
ClixAppsAI. The app runs on your phone and controls your TV over your own local Wi-Fi network.
This policy explains what the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree
to this policy.
No account, no sign-up. The app does not ask you to register, and we do not collect your name,
email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location.
1. Information the app handles
- Your TVs — stored only on your device. The TVs you connect to are remembered on your phone
so you don’t have to pair again: the TV’s IP address, its MAC address (only if you enter one to power the TV on),
the pairing key the TV issues, and any name you give a TV. This information stays in the app’s local storage on
your device and is never sent to us. Removing a TV with “Forget”, clearing the app’s storage,
or uninstalling the app deletes it.
- Purchase status. To run the free trial and the one-time unlock, we use RevenueCat.
It processes an anonymous, app-generated identifier and your purchase / entitlement status. It is not linked to
your name or email.
- Crash & diagnostic data. If the app crashes or hits an error, anonymous diagnostic
information (such as device model, operating-system version, and the technical details of the error) is sent via
Sentry so we can find and fix bugs. It does not identify you.
- Voice control. When you tap the microphone, your device’s built-in Google
speech recognition converts your speech to text. That audio is handled by the speech service on your device; the
app receives only the resulting text and acts on it. The app itself does not record, store, or transmit
audio.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
2. How your information is used
- To remember your TVs and reconnect to them.
- To provide the free trial and unlock premium features after a one-time purchase.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app’s reliability.
- To carry out the voice commands you speak.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How information is shared
- Service providers who help operate the app:
- RevenueCat — manages the trial and one-time purchase.
- Sentry — receives anonymous crash and diagnostic reports.
- Google — the device speech-recognition service that converts your voice to text.
- Apple & Google — app distribution and in-app purchases via their app stores.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
- Your TV. The app communicates directly with your TV on your local network. Your control of the
TV is not routed through our servers.
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. Data storage and security
Information about your TVs is stored locally on your device. Data sent to the providers above is transmitted over
encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable
measures to protect your information.
5. Data retention and deletion
Because your TV details live on your device, you are in control: use Forget on a saved TV, clear
the app’s storage, or uninstall the app to remove them. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and the app stores are
retained under their own policies. Questions about deletion? Email us and we will help.
6. Children’s privacy
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated”
date above.
